2023 UKHC Speakers: Helen Champion – Using Hypnotherapy to Help Domestic Violence Survivors

We welcome Helen Champion to the UK Hypnosis Convention this year, presenting for the first time having attended in previous years.

I qualified in hypnotherapy in 2017 and went on to obtain qualifications in integrative counselling, OldPain2Go and EMDR, along with much CPD. I have been in private practice since 2017, working with ages 11 and up. My previous career was in science and computer modelling, and I always enjoyed the puzzle-solving aspect of that work. Now I’m able to combine that with my fascination and curiosity about what makes people tick!

Helen’s presentation is titled: “Using hypnotherapy to help domestic violence survivors co-parent effectively and safely with their abusive ex”

Because you can’t go no-contact with your abuser when you have children together…

I work with lone parents who are co-parenting their children with an abusive ex following domestic violence.

These clients are struggling to process their trauma while the abuse is essentially ongoing via Family Court.

Hypnotherapy is a key part of this work, and I’ll talk about how I use it in this context.

I’ll also offer signposting to resource yourself if you choose to work with these cases or to refer on if not.

Hear from Helen in this video.
