Using EEG to Reveal How the Brain Responds to Solution Focused Hypnotherapy

This presentation delivers the findings of my research project into the use of EEG (electroencephalogram) to demonstrate the effect of hypnosis on the brain.

Carried out at the University of the West of England, the research findings are presented within the context of the latest neuroscience publications exploring problem solving and creativity.

The presentation will demonstrate how hypnosis produces extraordinary results via the activation of these areas of the brain producing the Eureka! effect.

After completing my PhD I lectured in academia for 17 years delivering training to psychologists. In 2016 I trained in hypnotherapy and between 2017-2019 conducted a research project into the effect of hypnosis on the brain. Now in private practice, I set up the Clinical Hypnotherapy School along with Dorothea Read and together we deliver evidence-based training and supervision to qualified hypnotherapists.
