What should you do when people ask you to show them some hypnosis? Many hypnotists struggle with this situation.
Should you demonstrate an induction? What if it doesn’t work? Perhaps you should show a suggestibility test or just explain how hypnosis works, but is that enough? Here’s how to impress them!
Sean will demonstrate a proven strategy to respond to this oft-posed question. Discover how to “show them something,” educate them, and also amaze them. And did I mention that you cannot fail?
Sean Michael Andrews is the Supervising Instructor for the Dave Elman Hypnosis Institute. He has a general hypnotherapy practice in Central Florida. Sean was named Hypnotist of the Year in 2018 (IACT) and 2013 (MAHC). He holds a black belt in Taijutsu Karate, and has taught hypnosis in 21 countries. Nobody likes to be sold to, but everyone loves to buy – We all want more clients, don’t we?. Every client interaction is a selling opportunity, but that doesn’t mean that to acquire more clients, you must sell sell sell. No. This presentation is based on 24 years of sales experience, based on how using emotion, tonality, body language and psychology you can increase your sales and turnover in an effortless and ethical way. It’s important to tell what you do without selling what you do. Stories sell. The most influential people in the world are storytellers. If you can draw people in with infectious enthusiasm and knowledge, you rule out the need for selling. Communication is key! After all, only 7% of communication is the words used; the other 93% is based on body language (55%) and how you say it, tonality (38%). This presentation demonstrates how to effectively boost client acquisitions in an effortless, ethical, enjoyable and effective way.

In October 2024, New Scientist spotlighted the locus coeruleus as the brain’s potential “master control switch”—a tiny, powerful nucleus influencing attention, arousal, memory, and mood. But what does this mean for us as hypnotists?
This dynamic session dives deep into the role and function of the locus coeruleus and why it may be the missing link in how we guide and embed change. We’ll explore how this neuromodulatory hub shapes trance states and what every practitioner should know about working with it safely, especially when supporting stress, fatigue, or trauma recovery.
You’ll experience two hypnotic explorations—designed to deepen your own connection to this vital brain region and give you practical tools to use with clients. Come curious, and leave with neuroscience-informed insights and embodied confidence in using this “blue spot” for precision, presence, and transformation

As an opera singer, I spent years perfecting my vocal technique, but one area was never addressed: how to feel truly confident before stepping on stage. Instead, I struggled with anxiety, self-doubt, and the fear of judgment, which led to paralysing stage fright. This mental block kept me from delivering the powerful performances I knew I was capable of—until I discovered hypnotherapy.
In 2021/2022, I developed a specialised hypnotherapy program designed to help performers tackle the unique mental barriers they face. Through this program, I guided myself and others to overcome fears of rejection, imposter syndrome, and comparison. These challenges often lead to low self-esteem, burnout, and even depression in performers.
My approach empowers individuals to reframe their mindset, embrace their uniqueness, and manage performances with confidence, using powerful hypnotherapy techniques.
In my presentation, I’ll share strategies from my program that have helped performers break free from stage anxiety and discover their true potential. I’ll show how hypnotherapy can be a transformative tool, not only for shifting the performer’s mindset but also for helping them thrive under the pressure of auditions, competition, and performance.
Whether you’re a hypnotherapist working with performers or curious about the intersection of performance and hypnotherapy, this talk will equip you with actionable tools to help clients embrace their talents and shine on stage.
Julie Bale is a clinical hypnotherapist, classical singer, voice teacher, speaker, and author with over 35 years of experience. Specialising in vocal technique and pedagogy, she discovered hypnotherapy after struggling with stage fright. In 2022, she founded Hypnotherapy for Singers, helping performers overcome anxiety and build confidence. Julie is also the bestselling author of The Real Me Isn’t Fat, focusing on weight loss through hypnotherapy. Her work has been featured in Classical Music Magazine, the BBC, and more. Can profound trauma – such as the grief of losing a child, surviving sexual assault, or witnessing horrific scenes as a first responder – begin to heal in a matter of minutes?
In this inspiring and practical session, Peter Bryant shares how he blends EMDR therapy with hypnotic phenomena to help clients overcome complex trauma and PTSD. Drawing on over two thousand hours of clinical work, Peter distills a compassionate, safety-focused framework that has helped over a hundred clients move beyond their most challenging experiences.
Attendees will see a live demonstration (subject to audience participation) of this approach and take away practical tools they can integrate immediately into their own practice. The talk will also cover crucial topics such as assessing risk, looking out for suicidal intent, and knowing when to work with trauma and when to seek additional support (or refer out!).
This session is designed to empower clinicians to feel more confident, less intimidated, and better equipped when working with even the darkest client material.
Peter is a UKCP accredited hypno-psychotherapist, registered member of BACP, accredited EMDR practitioner and a clinical supervisor. An experiential session, demonstrating a simple yet effective somatic induction. Bringing together learnings from Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness and Somatic experiencing, this simple induction gently leads clients to enter into a hypnotic experience, creating a calm, safe space to regulate their nervous system and for therapeutic work to begin.
During this session, you’ll be guided through the whole experience, with key learning and important steps highlighted along the way. There will be time to unpack the technique and for Q&A. The aim is that, by the end of the session, you’ll have all the tools and understanding to be able to utilise this technique for yourself.
It’s perfect for those who are anxious, stressed, overthinking or hesitant. It utilises the body’s natural responses and is safe and effective for use both in-person and online. Parts therapy is a very powerful technique which should be in the armoury of all hypnotherapists. However, sometimes it can be a little confusing to keep track of all the parts negotiation, going on, deal with ‘parts’ objections and can often take a long time to achieve the desired results. Perfected over twenty years, the ‘Release Parts/Ego State Hybrid’ is a sure-fire way to take control of the session and get fantastic results! Utilising an authoritarian-based approach, this version doesn’t give the client (or parts) any ‘wriggle room’, is easy to keep control of, and fits into the allocated time required. I’ve used this successfully with thousands of clients over the years. A huge part is in the set-up of the pre-talk to ensure compliance and success. I will give (and explain) the pre-talk and demonstrate the technique ‘live’ on a willing volunteer.
With over 20 years’ experience as a full-time hypnotherapist, Garry holds an MSc in Clinical Hypnotherapy, for which he carried out research into the effects of presurgical hypnosis on the recovery quality in breast cancer operations. Garry was contracted, for over 19 years, to a major UK NHS hospital for oncology-based hypnotherapeutic work, in addition to practicing from within a local GP surgery. Hypnotherapy offers direct access to the unconscious, making it a natural complement to Jungian psychology. While Carl Jung moved away from formal hypnosis, his theories—particularly the Shadow, archetypes, and individuation—provide a powerful framework for deep hypnotic work. This presentation explores how Jungian psychology can be integrated into hypnotherapy to facilitate psychological transformation.
By inducing a trance state, hypnosis bypasses the ego’s defenses, allowing access to unconscious material, including repressed emotions and archetypal imagery. These elements, often encountered in dreams and active imagination, can be actively engaged through hypnotherapy to promote healing and self-integration.
Attendees will gain practical insights into:
– Shadow work to reintegrate suppressed aspects of the self.
– Archetypal engagement to activate inner transformation.
– Active imagination within hypnosis for self-exploration.
– Individuation support for personal wholeness.
Through case studies and practical demonstrations, this session equips hypnotherapists with tools to deepen their practice by integrating Jungian depth psychology. By bridging hypnosis with Jungian theory, this approach unlocks new possibilities for working with the unconscious in a structured and transformative way.
Constantinos Zissimopoulos, MSc, is a licensed psychologist and psychotherapist with extensive clinical and academic experience. He is an accredited lecturer by the University of Derby and currently teaches Psychology at Aegean College. Alongside his teaching, he has contributed to international organizations as a counselor and has authored books and numerous articles on mental health and psychotherapy.

Presentation Introduction: Nested Loops Made Easy
Nested loops are one of the most powerful yet underutilised techniques in hypnosis. They allow therapists to layer stories within stories, creating deep levels of dissociation that enhance suggestion, absorption, and therapeutic impact. However, many therapists avoid using nested loops—not because they don’t see the value, but because they fear getting lost in their own loops and losing track of where they started.
In this engaging and practical session, Adam Cox will demystify nested loops and show how they can be used effectively without the complexity that often makes them intimidating. Using the movie Inception as a metaphor, Adam will explain how each story level creates deeper immersion, allowing multiple suggestions to work simultaneously.
But what happens if you get lost? That’s where mnemonics come in. Adam will introduce a simple, step-by-step system to confidently structure and navigate multiple levels of dissociation, plus a ‘get out of jail free’ card to bring clients back if needed.
This session isn’t just theory—Adam will demonstrate nested loops in action, taking participants through five or more levels of dissociation to show just how easy and effective this technique can be.
Adam Cox is a hypnotherapist, working from Harley Street before the pandemic, and is now most well known as the host of The Hypnotist podcast. The show features real hypnosis sessions with real clients while protecting the confidentiality of the client. Adam has published over 2,000 episodes and has an audience of over 400,000 downloads monthly with more than 12 million hypnosis downloads in total.

Fear—it’s like that dodgy SatNav in your brain, always rerouting you back to the same old roads of doubt, hesitation, and, occasionally, terrible life choices. It’s one of the most powerful forces shaping human behaviour, dictating decisions, reinforcing limiting beliefs, and keeping people stuck in patterns they swear they’re done with. Sound familiar? That’s because fear is sneaky—it’s not just something we feel, it’s something that controls us. And for many of our clients, it’s the invisible puppet master pulling the strings.
This talk is all about exposing fear for what it really is – not just an internal panic button but a weapon used by others to create dependency and obedience. Whether it’s an overbearing partner, a toxic workplace, or just that relentless inner critic, fear keeps people in line. Worse still, many of us unknowingly reinforce our own emotional prisons – by avoiding, overthinking, and repeating the same old disempowering stories.
But here’s the good news: as therapists, we can break this cycle. We’re not here to just nod sympathetically and hand out coping strategies—we’re here to dismantle the very foundations of fear-based thinking. This session will take you on a whirlwind of emotions (buckle up), but by the end, you’ll walk away with fresh insights, and maybe even a newfound respect for your own ability to help clients escape the fear trap for good.
Ian Cue is the fearless leader of Wolf Mindset, helping people break free from fear, anxiety, and self-doubt so they can Fear Less, Live More. Using NLP, hypnosis, and the R.I.S.E. Journey, Ian guides individuals to escape the mental traps holding them back. His slightly unhinged approach, humour, and high-energy style shake people out of their comfort zones, transforming fear into action.

Do you want to know how to use language to dissolve ways your clients create their problems?
Are you interested in doing “instant inductions”- but in a conversational way?
Would you like to get a new tool to help your clients change – even those “difficult” clients that are so hard to work with?
John Overdurf calls this tool going Beyond Words. Igor Ledochowski calls it the Mind Bending Language (MBL). I call it my ultimate superweapon, to be used when everything else fails 😉
When a client talks about their problem, they use specific words to describe it. These words are also a “glue” that keeps the problem solid and difficult to change. You can use these very words to “unglue” the problem and open the client’s mind to new possibilities and solutions.
It is so much more than just using confusion techniques. It is a way of using language to de-structure the way the client creates and thinks about their problem, and to expand their mind into the Trance of Infinite Possibilities, where all resources can be easily accessed and used to solve the problem.
During my presentation, I will teach you the effortless way to use the MBL. I will also perform a demo showing how to apply this method to solve a real problem. After the presentation, you will have new tools to enhance your way of using hypnosis with your clients – especially those difficult ones 🙂
I am an MD, a psychiatrist, a certified Master Hypnotherapist, an NLP Trainer certified by Richard Bandler, Chris Hall and John Overdurf. I have been using hypnosis and NLP in my clinical practice since 1998 and teaching it since 2000. I specialize mostly in Ericksonian and Conversational Hypnosis.

As hypnotherapists, we witness how past experiences shape our clients’ lives. Often, it’s not the event itself that causes pain, but how the subconscious interpreted it. Beliefs formed in childhood, the womb, or even past lives can lead to fear, self-doubt, and even physical symptoms.
Much of trauma involves others, and emotions like anger, powerlessness, and injustice prolong its effects, shaping how we perceive the world. When clients hold onto these feelings, their past continues to influence their present. However, when they are given the opportunity to understand another person’s behaviour, a profound shift occurs.
By fostering empathy and stepping into the perspective of those who hurt them, clients often realise that rejection, sadness, and anger were never truly about them. This understanding allows old wounds to heal, making space for new relationships and personal growth.
Through my practice, I’ve found forgiveness to be a transformative tool for healing. Imagine a client who has always felt abandoned by their mother. Under hypnosis, they revisit the memory and see that their mother wasn’t distant due to a lack of love—she was struggling with her own past. That realisation alone can dissolve years of suffering and open them to the love that was always there.
When we help clients release old pain and rewrite limiting beliefs, healing happens naturally.
In my presentation, I’ll share yet powerful techniques to help clients achieve deep emotional freedom.
Maria João, a passionate hypnotherapist, was certified by the International Association of Counselors and Therapists (IACT, USA) in 2012 and became a Master Trainer in 2014. For over 10 years, she has taught hypnotherapy, mentoring 100+ professionals while running “Hypnobalance”, her thriving clinic in Cascais, Portugal. Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) is a highly effective technique that works seamlessly alongside hypnosis, giving your clients the ability to see and feel real change – even before entering a hypnotic state. Using guided eye movements, IEMT helps clients access and reprocess negative memories and emotional imprints, a backdoor into the subconscious mind, while they remain fully awake and engaged.
IEMT allows you to prime clients for deeper transformation by addressing unresolved emotions, limiting beliefs, and chronic thought patterns before induction. It provides immediate cognitive shifts, reinforcing the mind’s ability to release stuck emotions and integrate new perspectives before the hypnotic process even begins.
In this workshop, you’ll explore how IEMT fits into the precognitive talk, helping clients experience emotional breakthroughs before they even close their eyes. You’ll learn about the Five Patterns of Chronicity—how clients stop therapy and how IEMT disrupts these patterns to create rapid, lasting change.

Clinical burnout is when the body has forced a stop in some way, so it is relatively easy to spot for a clinician, although it’s not uncommon for the sufferer to be unaware of the important role that chronic stress has had in this. We can recognise this in our clients, but they feel like an elastic band that is stretched to its limit and can snap at any time. The ICD-11 currently classifies burnout as a syndrome – a set of physical, emotional or behavioural signs and complaints that appear alongside each other, creating a state that is out of the norm. Often, we recognise that our client is responding to their ‘fawn’ response and is a high-functioning people pleaser. Symptoms include work overload, having too much to do and not enough time to do it. Also, a lack of control and having little or no agency over decisions that affect how to spend time effectively. In this presentation, Ian will demonstrate how to identify sufficient rewards and ways in which our clients can leave feeling valued. We are in a prime position to recognise burnout symptoms in our clients and offer real help based on acknowledged good practice, which Ian will demonstrate. You will leave this presentation with a sound understanding of techniques to use to help the client recover from burnout.

The good news is that we can indeed disconnect – and the even better news is that it’s much easier than you think.
In this session, you will
– learn what Trauma Bonding is
– find out how to spot it in your clients and yourself
– explore the neuroscience of trauma bonding
– discover how to safely, quickly and effectively disconnect the trauma bond
PLUS, of course, an introduction to how we can utilise Hypnosis to facilitate the recovery.
Complex, insightful and eye-opening – The key to truly understanding abusive survivors and to being able to offer effective support.

Twenty years ago, science knew little about tinnitus, the persistent ringing in the ear. While research has advanced significantly, the 17-year lag between health discoveries and clinical application means a true solution remains distant.
We now understand many of tinnitus’ causes, mechanisms and subjective experiences. Its complexity makes finding a universal cure nearly impossible – what works for one person may not work for another.
Researchers now advocate individualised treatment, often combining physical and psychological approaches. Among these, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is the most researched and widely recommended for management, coping and habituation.
However, alternative approaches remain significantly underexplored, whether alone or in combination. Hypnotherapy is one such approach. Despite multiple small studies showing quality-of-life improvement for about 70% of participants, the subjectivity of tinnitus, inconsistent study designs and methodologies hinder proper evaluation. As a result, hypnotherapy has been largely ignored by the tinnitus research community.
This presentation aims to change that. Hypnotherapy holds great potential to address tinnitus holistically, offering much more than just management and habituation.
By bridging the gap between current tinnitus and hypnotherapy research and practical experience, we will evaluate hypnotherapy’s potential as an individually targeted and non-invasive intervention for tinnitus relief.
Astrid Harms is a hypnotherapist and coach at www.soulessense.co in Amsterdam, working online with clients worldwide, specialising in challenging issues like tinnitus and chronic conditions. With a background in TV, media, and technical communication, she simplifies complex topics to make them easy to understand for anyone, and apply the insights in daily practice. Astrid loves to explore the connections between hypnotherapy, neuroscience, cognitive science, epigenetics, and mind-body disciplines. By integrating this knowledge into her sessions, she helps clients achieve significant improvements in well-being.

In this talk, I will explore the critical role the menstrual cycle plays in women’s behaviour and physiology. I’ll highlight the importance of understanding hormonal fluctuations and why it’s essential to incorporate this knowledge into your hypnotherapy sessions. For example, the luteal phase can lead to increased anxiety and sleep disruptions, while ovulation can bring heightened confidence.
By understanding these changes, you can tailor your approach to each phase of the cycle, enhancing the effectiveness of your hypnotherapy. Failing to consider the menstrual cycle can lead to missed opportunities for deeper insight, less effective treatment, and potential frustration for clients who feel misunderstood or unsupported.
Aligning your sessions with the body’s natural rhythm allows you to support your clients more impactfully, fostering better outcomes and stronger therapeutic rapport.
This talk aims to encourage a more holistic and personalised approach to therapy – empowering both you and your clients by recognising the influence of fluctuating hormones on the body.
Juliet Hollingsworth is a hypnotherapist with nearly two decades of experience and a passion for blending evidence-based methods with deep, intuitive insight. Additionally, Juliet leads Journey of a Young Woman, a programme that empowers girls to navigate the path from childhood to womanhood. Have you ever noticed that your hypnosis clients often seem stuck in an unfavorable perception of reality? This can be frustrating as a hypnotist, because no matter how much effort you put in, these rigid patterns can hinder their progress towards a better life.
In this presentation, you will learn effective and subtle hypnotic reframe techniques that literally help them ‘flip’ their ideas, enabling them to easily adopt a new perspective on reality, one that leads to a happier, more fulfilled life.
And this can be achieved through the mastery of conversational hypnosis, using language strategies to bypass patient resistance and create pattern interruptions that can change everything. All this can happen even before a formal induction begins, as magic often occurs in an open-eye trance.
If you can help the client unravel these rigid perceptions of reality, he will trust much more in the therapeutic process, leading to very quick advances that will be extremely useful for your confidence as a hypnotist to increase.

As hypnotherapists, our voice is our most powerful tool—but have you ever considered how your breathing impacts your presence, authority, and effectiveness? Functional breathing is the foundation of calm, control, and connection, yet most people—including hypnotherapists—unknowingly breathe in a way that weakens their impact.

Last year, we conducted research on the use of hypnosis for specific dental procedures. We examined the effect of hypnosis on increasing jaw mobility and the effectiveness of hypnosis in neutralising trismus. And while we expected the use of hypnosis in these areas to be very useful, the research results surprised us.
To the best of our knowledge, after searching the PubMed and Google Scholar databases, it turns out that we were the first team in the world to research hypnosis in relation to these specific procedures (Dawson manoeuvre, EMG)
During UKHC 2025, I want to share the results of this research with you and go a step further. I want to give you a point of reference in how many fields and disciplines of medicine, physiotherapy or sports, hypnosis will find new applications. Especially that data is amazing.

Your client has a medical symptom, but physicians have ruled out a medical cause. Functional Neurological Syndrome – or Conversion – disorders are a standard diagnosis, but there is no standard treatment.
We’ve been dealing with FNSD for a long time. In 1777, Franz Anton Mesmer cured Maria Theresia von Paradis, courtier of Empress Maria Theresa, of her blindness – this began the modern age of hypnosis. In 1882, Jean-Martin Charcot, the father of neurology, presented his findings relating hypnosis and hysteria to the Académie des Sciences, marking a significant moment in the scientific recognition of hypnosis.
Good news: hypnosis is a great neurological fit for treating FNSD. More interesting: Rapid hypnotic induction actually helps! We will explore how hypnosis works in the brain, how this relates to specific treatments, and how to perform and use rapid induction in your practice. The presentation will focus on practical demonstrations of the process.
Dr. Fredric Mau (D.Min. M.A. M.Div., LPC, LPCS) recently contributed to an upcoming edition of Essential Psychopathology and Its Treatment, a psychiatric textbook published by Norton. He has served on the medical faculty of a psychiatry residency program, has written three books, and is an international keynote speaker on hypnosis and mental health counseling. Clinical Hypnosis is used successfully within our Practices to support clients living with cancer, helping them to cope better with surgeries and treatments, and with the symptoms and side effects from Radiotherapy and Chemotherapy. During this presentation, I will talk with you about how hypnosis can be used in our practice rooms with clients with cancer, and what, in particular, we can help them with. And importantly, what we wouldn’t do during a hypnosis session.
Clinical hypnosis is now being trialled more and more within NHS Hospitals, including in supporting patients going through increasingly frightening treatments and surgeries for cancer. I will take you through the latest research into how the NHS are using Clinical hypnosis in this field, and the exciting research that is being done.
When I left the UKHC in November 2023, I didn’t know that within a fortnight, I would be diagnosed with breast cancer. During 2024, I had a major surgery, cancer treatments, and a second major surgery following UKHC 2024. I got to know my Oncology team well. They knew my work and how I used self-hypnosis to help with cancer surgeries and treatments, and to promote better healing and outcomes. They invited me to join their research team as a Clinical Hypnotherapist in the Clinical Trials within the NHS Hospital. It is a privilege, especially with clinical trials being a key part of medical progress. I look forward to sharing some findings with you. There will also be a live demo.

Whether you want to perform on the street, in a therapy room, or on stage, this session will equip you with a step-by-step strategy to go from hesitant to hypnotic master.

Despite continued research into the issue, the precise manner in which a large cluster of neurons delivers a sense of consciousness remains a mystery. Hypnosis has been described as an altered state of consciousness. If we could determine in what ways it is altered, then that may give us a lead into explaining the unchanged original. One of the biggest changes is to the sense of volition; people feel that things ‘just happen’, without their input. That could be a good starting point – except that therapists say, “Don’t worry. You can’t be made to do anything against your will!” Oh dear, it’s not going to be easy!
Peter is retired now, but continues to take an interest in research; he was in at the start of a newly-established group in Oxford, focussed on the consciousness issue. It was at Oxford that he gained his doctorate, and then embarked upon a varied career, based around research, both in academia and for the Ministry of Defence. He was a keen science communicator, for several years running the Psychology Section of the British Science Association. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, and is a past-president of their section for Hypnosis and Psychosomatic Medicine.

Through real-world examples, hypnotic techniques and practical strategies, you will gain the tools to help athletes break free from self-sabotaging thought patterns and perform at their best. Whether you work with elite competitors or age-group athletes, this interactive session will give you a game-changing approach to mental resilience and peak performance. Joni will share case studies and examples that demonstrate the importance of these cognitive discoveries for the athletes and how much they value the insights. See how much fun they have disputing and rewiring their thoughts through the hypnotic process and how their changes positively influence their lives – in and out of sports.
Joni will also present the common cognitive distortions of hypnotists that tend to hold them back from working with athletes. Athletes need our services to help them navigate the challenges that are unique to competitive sports. Join this session to eliminate those cognitions and get to work helping them.

Grief is not always a single moment of loss—it can unfold over months or even years as we care for a loved one with a terminal illness. This experience, often called the “long goodbye,” carries a unique emotional weight, blending sorrow, uncertainty, and anticipatory grief. Unlike sudden loss, this prolonged journey can lead to exhaustion, anxiety, and deep emotional strain for those left behind.
This presentation will explore the complexities of the long goodbye, focusing on the psychological impact of prolonged caregiving and the grief that comes with witnessing a slow decline. Participants will gain valuable insights into managing the uncertainty, emotional exhaustion, and anxiety that accompany this form of loss. Through practical strategies and therapeutic approaches, including hypnosis, we will examine ways to help clients find resilience, process their grief, and ease their emotional burden—allowing them to move forward with greater clarity and compassion.

Trauma changes the brain. So does hypnosis…
Developmental trauma is the pervasive sense of threat and unsafety that a child experiences when subjected to overwhelming interactions, leading to dissociation and psyche fragmentation.
Trauma is not ‘the event’ as such, but the resonance in the body of a perceived threat – the source of unsafety. It is a fact that no caretaker was able to help the child process the overwhelming emotions resulting from a ‘small t’ or ‘big T’ event, which leads to trauma.
The memory encoding function of the hippocampus is affected by the intense emotions associated with traumatic stress. The devastating intensity of a traumatic experience generates implicit, unprocessed memories. Cortisol release inhibits the consolidation of explicit memory, while the amygdala’s activation and adrenaline release facilitate the formation of implicit memory.
The implicit memory is a ‘frozen past’ leading to psyche fragmentation or trauma splits, often only felt somatically (stored in the body), but not accessible through cognitive-oriented talk therapies.
It is in the skilful alchemy of the implicit memory becoming explicit that trauma resolution resides…. (including preverbal trauma).
Hypno-Physis comes to orchestrate a (hypno-)therapeutic ritual that allows for a gentle exploration of early scenes, leading to catharsis, cognitive-behavioural reframe and a powerful redecision process that changes the future by restoring the ability to live in the present.
Transpersonal psychologist, clinical hypnotherapist and urban mystic, dr. Anemona Peres left a 20+yrs international career as police psychologist and applied psychology lecturer for law enforcement, to follow her passion: bridging science and ancient wisdom in her clinical practice, drawing from a wide range of modalities, i.a: gestalt, TA Redecision, parts work, NLP, RTT, relational neuroscience, transpersonal psychotherapy, systemic constellations, core shamanism. Dr. Peres is a master hypnosis trainer, registered supervisor, counsellor, author, researcher and educationalist.

Hypnotherapy for relationship break-ups can be a powerful tool to help individuals process their emotions and move forward. This therapeutic approach uses hypnosis to access the subconscious mind, allowing individuals to uncover and address deep-seated feelings of grief, anger, or insecurity that may arise after a breakup. By working through these emotions in a safe and supportive environment, hypnotherapy can assist in building self-esteem and resilience. It can also help reframe negative thought patterns and enable individuals to gain a clearer perspective on their relationships and personal growth. Ultimately, hypnotherapy can facilitate a healthier emotional transition, empowering individuals to embrace new beginnings with confidence.

Will be introducing New code NLP Experiential Games which can naturally alter the state of a client from beta to alpha. This helps the therapist in accessing peak performance states which is a state of no internal dialogue.
And the best part about these games is the fact that it can be applied for an 8 year old to a 80 year old. Moreover these peak performance games will make the job of a therapist to induce trance. It’s also highly effective for the least suggestible subjects who are too analytical.
Once an individual access the peak performance state you will see a visible shift in their skin tone, muscle tension, pupil dilation, voice modulation, breathing pattern and much more.

Anxiety and phobias can be debilitating, affecting patients’ quality of life and making even routine medical or dental visits overwhelming. As professionals, we often face the question: should we rely on pharmacological interventions, or can hypnotherapy offer a more sustainable, long-term solution? This engaging and thought-provoking presentation will explore the critical decision-making process behind choosing hypnosis or sedatives for managing anxious and phobic patients.
We will delve into the mechanisms of both approaches, uncovering how hypnotherapy can rewire fear responses and build patient resilience, while sedatives provide immediate but temporary relief. What are the risks and benefits of each? When should we prioritise one over the other – or is there room for both? Through real-world case studies and clinical insights, we’ll examine their effectiveness, safety considerations, and long-term impact on patient care.
This session is designed to challenge traditional perspectives and encourage a deeper understanding of patient-centred anxiety management. Whether you’re a hypnotherapist, medical/dental professional, or clinician seeking to refine your approach, this lecture will provide valuable insights into evidence-based strategies for guiding patients from panic to peace. Join us for a compelling discussion that could reshape the way you approach anxiety and phobia treatment in your practice! Do you want to see if we can even drop the Sedatives to Zero?

Women are often encouraged—implicitly or directly—to “fake it” until they somehow find their way to orgasm. Yet, when it comes to anorgasmia, faking it only deepens the disconnection. Behind the inability to orgasm lies a more intricate story: one woven from shame, cultural expectations, trauma, and the silent burden many women carry around their sexuality.
In this bold and empowering presentation, Kaz Riley shares how clinical hypnosis can be used to help women break free from this cycle and actually make it – on their terms. Through Kaz’s clinical lens, you’ll explore how re-education and shame-release form the foundation for healing, how sensual embodiment can be restored, and how the right hypnotic interventions can reignite a client’s innate capacity for pleasure and orgasm.
This session will also touch on the subtle but vital link between clinical and ethical erotic hypnosis, offering a safe, professional route to support women in reconnecting with their bodies and stepping into genuine sexual empowerment.
Expect to leave with fresh perspectives, clinical insights, and a deeper understanding of how hypnotherapy can move beyond symptom management and toward helping clients create real, lasting sensual change.

Are you ready to make a real impact on a child’s emotional well-being? Whether you’re looking at it as a parent, educator or professional working with children, this powerful session will give you the tools to help children overcome anxieties, build self-confidence and develop lifelong emotional resilience.
Did you know that from birth, children absorb everything around them, shaping their subconscious beliefs, emotional responses and how they see themselves and the world around them? Nurturing and positive experiences help children grow into confident, emotionally strong individuals. However, stress, criticism and emotional neglect can lead to limiting beliefs like “I’m not good enough” or “The world is unsafe” – manifesting later as anxiety, low self-esteem or social difficulties.
During this talk and presentation, I will discuss practical, science-backed techniques to enable you to pick up simple, powerful strategies which help children rewire negative beliefs and build confidence. As a thank you for listening, I will bestow a special gift for attendees, a complimentary tool you can use when working with children.
There’s no boring theory! It’s packed with real-life examples, case studies and techniques that really WORK. These approaches are not just theoretical – they have been successfully used to help countless children break free from limiting beliefs, reduce anxiety, and build emotional resilience.
I am Les Roberts, specialising in helping children understand and manage their emotions. With expertise in Hypnosis and other methodologies, I support children’s wellbeing through tailored sessions and classes. In collaboration with schools and professionals, I promote early intervention and educate staff to encourage a child to thrive. I'm extremely passionate about making a difference and my overall objective is to develop innovative approaches to empower young minds with confidence, resilience and emotional balance to enable children to have a brighter future.

Trauma isn’t just something we remember—it’s something we live. It shapes how we think, feel, behave, and even how our bodies function. Whether it begins before birth, as in adoption trauma, or results from life-altering events, like accidents leading to Functional Neurological Disorder (FND), trauma embeds itself deep in the unconscious, driving patterns we may not even realise are there.
This presentation explores how trauma rewires the brain and nervous system, influencing emotions, behaviours, and physical health. It explains why someone with early trauma may struggle with trust, abandonment fears, or identity, while another develops functional symptoms like seizures, tremors, or paralysis – all without an obvious medical cause. Trauma leaves its mark, but crucially, it is not permanent.
While research into hypnosis for both adoption trauma and FND is still developing, there is growing evidence of its impact on nervous system regulation, trauma processing, and functional recovery. More importantly, I have seen firsthand in my practice how hypnosis helps clients reprocess trauma, regulate emotional responses, and restore physical function.
Using real client experiences, neuroscience insights, and practical hypnotherapy techniques, I will demonstrate how hypnosis can rewire trauma-based patterns, create new neural connections, and facilitate deep healing – emotionally and physically.
John Scanlon is the founder of the Irish Hypnotherapy Conference and a recognised specialist in pre- and early childhood trauma, adoption-related hypnotherapy, and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). With a successful practice in Wexford and online, he is committed to advancing hypnotherapy’s role in emotional and physical healing. As a trainer, John helps therapists develop their skills and deepen their understanding of trauma-focused hypnotherapy, ensuring more clients benefit from effective, client centred interventions.

This presentation explores how adversity, grief, loss and change can serve as catalysts for discovering one’s best self.
Through a combination of storytelling, hypnosis principles, and practical tools, Dipti Tait and Toby Sillence will take you on a compelling journey from rock bottom to authentic transformation.
Toby will share his ‘Bear Story’, which he wrote during our ‘Find Your Flow’ Hypnotherapy Retreat in Bali – it’s a metaphorical tale of feeling stuck, unadventurous and trapped in a corporate jail – he had been working at Dyson for 9 years, increasingly feeling like an ‘inauthentic fraud’.
One month after returning from the retreat in July 2024, Dyson, with no warning whatsoever, made 1000 employees redundant, including Toby, throwing him into a deep, dark pit of grief and uncertainty.
Dipti will use Toby’s experience to explain the ‘Best Self Tower,’ her hypnotic model that illustrates how challenging experiences shake up our world and force us to rebuild. Drawing insights from her book Planet Grief and her expertise as a Solution-Focused Hypnotherapist, Dipti will demonstrate how solution-focused strategies can help turn ‘bad grief’ into ‘good grief’ — a transformative force that unlocks one’s true potential.
The session will be educational and personal, providing the audience with valuable tools, mindset shifts, and practical applications for their own lives as well with clients.
Toby has since qualified as a Generative Trance Coach with Stephen Gilligan.
Dipti Tait started her career working in TV – at the BBC in London. She swapped high-heels for a high-chair while her babies (now adults) were growing up - and retrained as a hypnotherapist. Nicknamed by Adam Eason as ‘The Darling of Breakfast TV’ – Dipti now runs a busy Hypnotherapy practice in the Cotswolds and see clients around the world on zoom. Since the pandemic, children’s emotional well-being has been negatively impacted. Anxiety, low confidence, and emotional overwhelm are more common than ever, leaving many struggling to cope. As hypnotherapists, we have the skills to help—but how can we ensure our approach is practical, engaging, and truly makes a difference?
In this fun and interactive session, we’ll introduce our MindHack System, a unique integrated approach designed to help children feel more in control of their emotions, develop resilience, and build confidence.
At the heart of this is the Wellbeing toolbox, which is an Emotional First Aid Kit—just like the first aid kits we keep at home for physical bumps and scrapes, this kit is filled with simple, user-friendly tools to help children and families manage emotional challenges.
We’ll explore simple yet effective techniques that children and parents can use whenever they need a little extra support, empowering them to navigate life’s ups and downs with confidence.
Expect engaging discussion, practical demonstrations, and take-home strategies that will expand your skills and give you new ways to help young clients. If you’re ready to make a real impact on children’s wellbeing, this is a session you will want to be part of!

In today’s hyper-connected world, social media is an integral part of daily life and work. Yet research increasingly highlights its negative impact on mental health, often creating anxiety, stress, low self-esteem or compulsive behaviours. As teen anxiety rises, many people find themselves mindlessly scrolling, struggling to detach and frustrated by the endless stream of information and comparison. For some, it borders on addiction.
Having experienced a forced break from social media myself, I was struck by the profound effects on my own wellbeing and business strategy. This personal insight, along with increasing research, inspired me to explore how hypnosis could empower individuals to create a healthier relationship with technology.
Here I’ll be talking about the hidden psychological effects of excessive social media use and how we can use hypnosis as a powerful tool in addressing the growing trend in digital dependency. I’ll offer fresh perspectives and practical strategies.
Join me to discover how hypnosis can help clients step away from digital overwhelm and reclaim balance in their lives.
My journey through life has led me from a corporate background to a heart-centred holistic practice in North Wales, working both locally and online. For the past 15 years I’ve dedicated my time to helping people overcome mental and emotional barriers to create meaningful change and live happier, healthier lives. Professionally, working primarily with midlife women, my work blends clinical hypnotherapy, Heal Your Life® coaching and other holistic modalities, providing an evidence-based intuitive service. Personally, I’m a creative at heart, with a love for storytelling, nature and learning.

Ever had that sinking feeling when a client entered the room and said: “By the way, I can’t visualise”… or blurted out in the middle of a session: “I can’t actually see or feel anything!” …or told you after the session: “I didn’t do any of the things you asked me to do. I don’t think I can be hypnotised.” Sounds like… aphantasia!
About 4% of the population have aphantasia. They lack the ability to picture things in the mind’s eye. But it’s not just about visualisation! Most aphantasics lack mental imagery in one or more other internal senses, too (hearing, smell, taste, touch, movement).
Aphantasia impacts how people think, process emotions and recollect events. Though aphantasia is seen as a ‘neutral neurodivergence’ rather than a disability, it can present as a challenge under certain circumstances. One of these is accessing therapeutic practices based on guided imagery – think common hypnosis practices!
For aphantasics, some commonly used hypnotic techniques can pose a serious barrier to experiencing and benefiting from hypnosis – which, as an aphantasic herself, Paulina soon realised when she started training in it. This led her to start researching and testing what works best for aphantasic clients.
In this presentation, Paulina will share her top tips for working with aphantasics. You will leave the presentation with a solid understanding of what aphantasia is, how to recognise it, and what techniques are most effective in working with aphantasic clients.
Dr Paulina Trevena is a hypnotherapist, ADHD coach and researcher. After years of working in academia, Paulina discovered the world of hypnosis and was hooked! She now runs a personal development business No Woo Woo! Paulina, who is neurodivergent with aphantasia and ADHD, specialises in supporting people with these conditions. Back around 2007 I trained in Clean Language and symbolic modelling and, without question, it was something of a game-changer for my client work. Indeed, for the longest time I would say “if you take away all my tools, leave me with Clean Language!”
In the main, the point of working cleanly is to avoid offering ‘content’ (ideas/frameworks etc.) that are a mismatch for the client (both where they are and the kind of outcomes they will value), but there are advantages beyond just that (which we will look at in this session). Generally speaking, the ethos of ‘clean’ is good, but also significantly limiting (especially for ‘suggestionists’ – those informed by the work of Erickson or other ‘post-Nancy’ schools of hypnosis).
Well, for me Clean and Suggestionism are like yin and yang and when woven together in a generative interplay they support and inform each other.
In this session we are looking at how this works via both discussion and demonstration.
James Tripp is an internationally recognised hypnosis practitioner, change agent and self development coach, who works with armed forces and blue light services in the UK as well as private clients. Clients often use words like feeling stuck, held back, heavy, trapped, suffocated, or on edge and it sucks. We know that these metaphorical expressions come directly from their unconscious, and as coaches and therapists, we can leverage this for change.
In this workshop, I’ll open the door to a whole new way of using metaphorical language to instantly build rapport, bring unconscious experiences into conscious awareness, and help clients start thinking and acting differently in their lives. We’ll explore a unique approach to working with the unconscious using Metaphors of Movement, a dynamic method designed to help clients view their challenges in new ways. It can be used content-free free and with practice, it can easily be incorporated into any modality that works with the unconscious, whether it’s hypnosis, NLP, shamanism, or beyond.
If you’re a therapist eager to offer your clients something completely different from other traditional methods or if you’re simply curious to experience something fresh, come experience a whole new world of metaphor! This isn’t just another lecture, it’s a practical, light-hearted, and interactive workshop where you’ll explore a challenge in your life and see firsthand how this metaphorical approach can elevate your work with clients to an entirely new and unexpected level.
Dale Turnbull, an Englishman in New York, offers training, coaching and mentoring in Metaphors of Metaphors of Movement. Ditch the ‘cookie-cutter’ approach. Delivering SPORTS PERFORMANCE is both art and science, I’ll help you with both, whilst giving thought expansion. We can all, always be better.
Using my extensive experience form being an elite sportsman, working with sportspersons at all levels, to research scientist, to giving Boris Johnson rage (!), and more, I’ll deliver the knowledge and the application, and hopefully some laughs.
You’ll understand the complex system of sport and the key ground rules to follow, and pitfalls to avoid. After all, unintended consequences are not always unanticipated. I’ll help you contextualise these rules with two diverse sets of clients.
Firstly, those in CONTACT SPORTS, the brain damaged bunch, the ones who will ALL have affected behaviour from getting repetitive head impacts. They’ll have certain behavioural effects from this. I’ll help you work with them. Policy, brain damage, and combat sports is my PhD research.
Secondly, TRANSGENDER IN SPORT, giving you insight into their experiences and specific challenges, whilst setting the record straight as what the literature position actually says, you’ll probably be just a little surprised when you find the facts don’t match the moral panic in the media. I’m a scientist in this field.
Delivering key points with the punch of Mike Tyson and the speed of Lia Thomas in the pool, I’ll put on the performance of my life and help your clients get gold, with a smile.

Join this dynamic and experiential session designed to give you the confidence and know-how to integrate hypno-projectives into your own practice. We’ll begin with a group hypnosis experience combining deep relaxation and internal space induction, followed by three progressive projective exercises while in trance.
After the experience, we’ll explore what happened and why—unpacking the techniques used, the reasoning behind each step, and common pitfalls to avoid. You’ll also gain insights into how shifting brainwave states can affect memory and integration, helping you better support your clients after trance work.
You’ll leave with a detailed one-page handout including the full protocol, helpful tips, and practical guidance—so you can apply what you’ve learned with confidence.

Your work changes lives – but how many people never get the chance to experience it? The way people purchase online hypnotherapy has changed. In 2025, clients no longer jump straight into high-ticket programs or extended 1:1 work. Instead, they start with low-commitment, accessible resources that help them take the first step toward transformation.
This is where digital hypnosis products come in. They don’t just create an additional revenue stream – they allow you to extend your reach beyond the limitations of your diary, helping more people access the breakthroughs they desperately need. By offering recordings, guided sessions, and digital courses, you can serve those who aren’t yet ready for 1:1 work while naturally guiding them toward deeper change.
In this session, you’ll learn how to create ethical, effective, and impactful passive hypnotherapy products that align with client needs and the evolving buyer journey.
You’ll discover how and why consumer behaviour has shifted in 2025, how digital products can be a bridge to higher-level support, and how to position them so they serve both your clients and your business. This is about delivering high-quality, transformational resources in a way that is sustainable, scalable, and deeply aligned with your mission.
Erika and Marianne - founders of The RiseUp Academy - are dedicated to helping hypnotherapists grow and scale successful online businesses. Erika, a Clinical Hypnotherapist, and Marianne, a Certified Coach, are both business strategists who have helped hundreds of hypnotherapists build sustainable, scalable businesses. They specialise in helping hypnotherapists attract international clients online and create a diverse range of offers, from high-value 1:1 packages and group programs to passive income streams.

Susan Wallace
Susan provides an evidence based approach to help hypnotherapists work with the three fundamental subconscious processes that are often ignored in solution focused hypnotherapy.
#1. Our clients Emotional Hardware – the seven primary processes described by Jaak Pankseep, the affective neuroscientist.
#2 Our clients Attachment Software and Internal Working Model developed by John Bowlby and Mary Ainsworth.
#3 Our Threat Appraisal System from the work of Magda Arnold, Carl Rogers and Dr Sue Johnson.
Without the knowledge and skills to work with these processes, hypnotherapists run the risk of losing market share and connection with clients. Gen Z and Millennial clients have become disenchanted with old fashioned, outdated models of hypnotherapy. They are tuning into podcasts such as the Huberman Lab, Diary of a CEO, Modern Wisdom, The Resetters Podcast, Being Well and many more. The are versed in the work of Pankseppian neuroscience, attachment psychology and the legacy of trauma that is carried in our attachment body language and autonomic survival responses. Susan cuts though the science to get to the heart of the practical way to update your practice and deliver a more authentic, slower form of hypnotherapy that is truly client centred.
Susan Wallace is on a mission to modernise hypnotherapy and to help it reclaim ownership of the phased approach to Healing Trauma Through Hypnosis. Susan is the developer of Neuro Affective Programming. An updated model of hypnotherapy that moves beyond the solution focused approach and highlights the importance of working with the unconscious, non verbal somatic and emotional narratives.

Military… they are a strange bunch, leaving home at a young age to build up their own life with a bunch of strangers.
Many ‘squaddies’ aim to get away from past experiences. Whether abuse, crime or other, learning leadership skills and guiding those below them into war.
Unfortunately, mental health situations have arisen with Op Telic and Herrick, where some have lost friends or sustained injuries resulting in lifelong change.
Join me for a talk on how the military communicates, why leadership is so important and what it is. And learn how you, too, can help service personnel.
A Soldier for the last 22 years and Therapist for the 12 of those years, Graham has utilised the tools he has, in the environment most known to him… The Military and the surrounding families in the community. Also a close up Magician and Musician. Graham has been the owner of his own Entertainment company for the last 8 years.

How does hypnosis affect the brain on a neurological level? What happens in real-time inside the brain of a person in hypnosis? In this compelling one-hour presentation, Hansruedi unveils the scientific breakthroughs achieved through three pioneering studies using fMRI, EEG, and MRS to measure hypnosis’s neurological and biochemical effects.
Conducted in collaboration with the University of Zurich, these studies have provided hard evidence that hypnosis is a distinct and measurable state with profound effects on brain function, cognition, and perception.
✔ fMRI Study: Using functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging, researchers mapped the brain’s activity in hypnosis.
✔ EEG Study: Electroencephalography (EEG) recorded real-time brainwave activity.
✔ MRS Study: Pioneering Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (MRS) analysed neurotransmitter levels. It revealed changes in neurochemistry, such as altered glutamate and GABA levels.
Challenges & Impact
Overcoming scientific scepticism, methodology complexities, and peer-review standards was crucial in ensuring credibility. These findings support hypnosis as a distinct state, paving the way for broader acceptance in medicine, psychology, and neuroscience.
This session is a must for professionals seeking scientific validation of hypnosis and its future applications in clinical and therapeutic settings.

Virtually all therapists agree that a primary factor in good therapy outcomes is the quality of the relationship between therapist and client. Beyond recognising the importance of that essential foundation, however, therapists can and do differ sharply in the ways they define and then treat their clients’ problems. Ten therapists can listen to the same client interview, but then have ten different views of what the goals of treatment and the treatment approach should be. Are each of their ten approaches of equal merit? How is it that some hypnosis practitioners consistently obtain better results than others? Consider your reply to this question: How do you decide which treatment path to follow?
How you think about hypnosis naturally shapes how you’ll apply it. As a result, hypnotherapists clearly have some widely divergent ideas and practices. In this address, I will begin by exploring the process of goal setting in treatments. Specifically, I will consider some of the key distinctions (discriminations) we must make in our client interviews. Then I will discuss the treatment choice points and the potential applications of hypnosis based on our understanding of symptom structures. The merits of a process-oriented approach will be emphasised. Finally, how a process-oriented approach to hypnosis was used in the development of Claria, a digital app for mental health I developed for Mindset Health, will also be considered.
Michael D. Yapko, Ph.D., is a clinical psychologist residing near San Diego, California. He is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking work in applying clinical hypnosis in outcome-focused psychotherapies, especially in the active non-pharmacological treatment of depression. He has been invited to present his innovative ideas and methods to colleagues in more than 30 countries across six continents, and all over the United States. His highly practical YouTube lecture on “How to Recover from Depression” has now been viewed more than 5.4 million times. Dr. Yapko is the author of 16 books, three edited books, and nearly 100 journal articles and book chapters. His most recent book for professionals is the newly updated 6th edition of his classic hypnosis textbook, Trancework: An Introduction to the Practice of Clinical Hypnosis (with co-author Shawn Criswell, Ph.D.). His other award-winning books on hypnosis include Process-Oriented Hypnosis: Focusing on the Forest, Not the Trees, Taking Hypnosis to the Next Level, and Mindfulness and Hypnosis: The Power of Suggestion to Transform Experience. His works have been translated into 10 languages. Dr. Yapko is also the developer of the popular digital hypnotherapy mental health app called Claria in association with the Australian digital therapeutic company, Mindset Health (www.mindsethealth.com). Dr. Yapko has been given lifetime achievement awards from the American Psychological Association, the International Society of Hypnosis, and The Milton H. Erickson Foundation. He was honored to be named a “Living Treasure” by the Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis. More information about Dr. Yapko’s work is available on his website: www.yapko.com.
