Dental fear is one of the most common—and complex—phobias, yet it remains widely misunderstood outside the clinical environment. In this one-hour presentation, you will gain rare access to an evidence-based approach to working with dental anxiety and phobia, taught by a uniquely qualified presenter who is both a practising dental clinician and an evidence-based hypnotherapist.
This masterclass is firmly grounded in neuroscience, phenomenology, cognitive regulation, emotional regulation, and psychological safety. You will learn how dental fear develops, how it is maintained at a neurological and experiential level, and why many standard anxiety interventions fail in dental contexts. Attendees can expect clear, structured teaching that translates complex theory into practical, ethical hypnotic interventions suitable for clinical practice.
You will leave with a deeper understanding of sensory threat responses, anticipatory anxiety, loss of control, and trauma-informed care within dentistry. All techniques taught are evidence-informed, safety-led, and designed to be adapted into your existing therapeutic framework. Scripts and structured interventions will be clearly explained and provided as handouts for immediate use.
This is an inclusive, interactive session. Questions are actively encouraged, ensuring attendees leave with clarity, confidence, and practical tools to work more effectively with dental phobia.
