Adam Eason

Organiser

Clinician, College Principal, University Lecturer, Author and Researcher. The ‘face’ of the convention who comperes the event. Adam was the keynote speaker at the inaugural UK Hypnosis Convention and fell in love with the event. He took over the reins from founder Nick Ebdon following the 2018 convention.

Adam is the Principal of the Anglo European College of Therapeutic Hypnosis and a guest lecturer in the Psychology Department at Bournemouth University on their MSC in hypnosis programme. He has lectured for the Hypnosis and Psychosomatic Medicine section of the Royal Society of Medicine, including presenting at the prestigious Waxman memorial lecture.

He is the author of the books the Science of Self-Hypnosis: The Evidence-Based Way to Hypnotise Yourself and Hypnosis For Running as well as the author of the first and only meta-analysis on the clinical applications of self-hypnosis published in a peer-reviewed journal (The APAs Psychology of Consciousness Journal). He runs the UK Hypnosis Convention and has dedicated his entire adult life to the field of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. Adam’s research continues to explore self-hypnosis and cognitive performance.

Steve Baxter

Organiser

Steve is the technical brains behind the UKHC. At the event, he is responsible for all the technology used, from the website, online schedule, tickets and passes and the audio-visual presentation and sound systems we use.

Steve previously practised as a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist and specialised in working with top-level stage performers. He was especially well known in classical music circles and has worked with clients from many of the UK’s top orchestras and music colleges. He has spoken at a variety of establishments and residential courses, most notably the London Symphony Orchestra. He has now retired from delivering therapy but continues working as a freelance software engineer.

Steve is married to the cellist Rebecca Gilliver, and they live in Orpington, Kent with their two dogs Ozzie and Jasper.

Steve Baxter is a director of the UK Hypnosis Council, which organises the UK Hypnosis Convention.

Sarah Mortimer

Organiser

Sarah is a Clinical Hypnotherapist running a busy practice in Bristol and online, integrating approaches from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in her work.

She is also a college tutor and facilitator at The Anglo European College of Therapeutic Hypnosis and serves as Director for the UK Hypnotherapy Council, organisers of the UK Hypnosis Convention. In addition, Sarah is a hypnotherapy supervisor, Vice Chair, Secretary and Trustee for the Open University Psychological Society, and is currently studying her final year of a BSc in Psychology with the Open University.

Kelly Bendall

Kelly is currently completing her Hypnotherapy Diploma and has a strong interest in mental fitness and mindset development. She is particularly drawn to how hypnotherapy, NLP, and visualisation techniques can be used to strengthen focus, resilience, and inner confidence to support personal growth and wellbeing.
