Hypno-EMDR – UK Hypnosis Convention

Hypno-EMDR

Integrating Suggestion and Stimulation.

Peter Bryant

Presented by

Peter Bryant

Can profound trauma – such as the grief of losing a child, surviving sexual assault, or witnessing horrific scenes as a first responder – begin to heal in a matter of minutes?

In this inspiring and practical session, Peter Bryant shares how he blends EMDR therapy with hypnotic phenomena to help clients overcome complex trauma and PTSD. Drawing on over two thousand hours of clinical work, Peter distills a compassionate, safety-focused framework that has helped over a hundred clients move beyond their most challenging experiences.

Attendees will see a live demonstration (subject to audience participation) of this approach and take away practical tools they can integrate immediately into their own practice. The talk will also cover crucial topics such as assessing risk, looking out for suicidal intent, and knowing when to work with trauma and when to seek additional support (or refer out!).

This session is designed to empower clinicians to feel more confident, less intimidated, and better equipped when working with even the darkest client material.

Peter is a UKCP accredited hypno-psychotherapist, registered member of BACP, accredited EMDR practitioner and a clinical supervisor. Since 2021, he has specialised in providing online trauma-focused therapy to NHS patients demonstrating symptoms consistent with complex PTSD. Peter, originally trained as a musician (percussion), has completed randomised controlled trial research on binaural beats and pain perception and, in 2020, published a book called Crypto Profit, about successful high-risk investing. In late 2025, he is hoping to begin researching EMDR and its application with medically unexplained symptoms as part of a doctorate in psychological trauma from the University of Chester.
