What You Should Know About The Convention

What Makes The UK Hypnosis Convention So Special?

The intention of the convention is to take all of the bits we have identified as working in other industry wide conferences around the world, tweak them, improve them, throw away the bits we didn’t want or need and hopefully come up with something that everyone feels is fun, informative and by the end of it, leaves them feeling that they were part of something incredible.

Firstly, it is fair to say that the UK Hypnosis Convention probably would not have happened (at least this year), had Anthony Jacquin and the Head Hacking team decided to hold a seventh Change Phenomena Hypnotism Conference in 2016.

The Change Phenomena Conference gave those in the industry a place to come and learn, laugh and make friends and because it was not affiliated to any hypnosis body or organisation, it’s attendees felt more relaxed and less on ceremony.

This open and unbiased approach is something we are keen to emulate and build on and we are fortunate to boast a number of speakers from past Change Phenomena conferences, including Anthony himself who we are hoping can be persuaded to play a more active role beyond presenting!

We are also taking the format used by it sister convention, Hypnosekongress, this year being held over the following weekend in Berlin, in giving attendees the freedom and choice of who they listen to and when. This approach also seems to work successfully in other parts of the world, notably the two major US based conventions, where guests can make up their own mind of who they want to listen to and where new presenters and experts are given a vehicle to showcase their talent and gain invaluable experience and exposure.

As you will see by the diverse and exciting lineup of presenters, we are also not afraid to put individuals with contrasting opinions, styles and schools of thought on the same billing, confident that common ground can be found, new friendships and new levels of respect can be formed and the industry presented in a more productive and respectful light.

Occasionally the industry does not advertise itself well on social media and one of the key aims of the UK Hypnosis Convention is to embrace the diversity and differences within our profession in a friendly and respectful way.

This theme will extend into the Saturday gala dinner and our keynote speaker Adam Eason is promising to address it and other themes, in a humorous and informative way.

In addition, there will be a number of other things taking place over the course of the weekend that will add to the fun and collaborative feel of the convention, details of which will be announced in the near future.

Ultimately we do not want you, our valued guests to feel anything other than comfortable, enthused and enlightened for the duration of the convention.

I look forward to seeing you all in October!
