A Little About Kate
I have what some might consider to be a 'portfolio career' as I work in a range of settings. I am research supervisor for the UK's only MSc. Clinical Hypnotherapy, whilst also teaching hypnotherapy privately (HypnoTC) and for Morley College, where I also teach psychology to a range of health and nursing students. In addition, I spend time working as a clinical hypnotists on the wards of a busy London teaching hospital, together with hypnotherapy practices in London and Essex. I am Chair of the British Society of Clinical Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy Professional Specific Board member at Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC). I have recently co-authored a hypnosis book for children (Sam the Sleepy Sheep) and am presently writing a book for hypnotherapists wishing to use hypnotherapy for hospital inpatients and outpatients and other medical settings. This makes good use of the extensive hypnotherapy training that I have undertaken, not just as part of my initial training but during my Doctoral studies where I researched the provision of hypnotherapy training in the UK from a teaching, learning and professionalism perspective. These studies enabled me to gain thousands of classroom and study hours in a diverse range of clinical and medical training environments. My contributions to research were recognised by the Federation of Holistic Therapists in 2015 with a Excellence award for Research.
