THE BLAST TECHNIQUE™ AND THE CHANGING FACE OF PTSD – NICK DAVIES
An interactive presentation of how PTSD is stored in the brain, the neuroscience behind it and why it doesn’t respond to talking therapies, instead suppressing or repressing the trauma and coming out in a variety of other representations; rashes, numbness, tics, addictions etc.
What is the objective?
My objective is to educate hypnotherapists on PTSD and trauma, the neuroscience behind it, the studies on it and how they can effectively spot it and treat it.
What makes this presentation unique?
Most people assume that hypnotherapy can treat PTSD but it’s not very effective because of the nature of how it is stored in the brain, instead it represses or suppresses it to come out in other symptoms or addictions. I will also perform live demonstrations.
The BLAST Technique™ (Bi-Lateral Analysis and Stimulation Treatment) was created by psychotherapist Nick Davies after using eye movement desensitising and reprocessing (EMDR) for some time. Although EMDR has been proven to produce great results, he found it too slow and clinical for the needs of the client, often not addressing the ‘root’ of the trauma.
After studying the ground breaking work or Neuroscientist Joseph Ledoux and other post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) specialists like Dr Peter Naish and Dr Da Silva, he began to refine, test and add new modalities to create a new technique that was more accurate and efficient. This meant the client spent a fraction of the time experiencing the trauma, and left with it permanently removed in order to get on with their lives.
Nick then went on to teach his techniques to Doctors (both GPs and PhDs), counsellors, psychotherapists and hypnotherapists who reported incredible results.
It’s Nick’s mission to increase the awareness of PTSD and trauma and teach others how to rapidly and permanently treat it to reduce the unnecessary suffering.
