IBS4IBS: SUCCESS WITH HYPNOTHERAPY FOR IRRITABLE BOWEL SYNDROME – HELEN BREMNER
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a long-term illness, that can be debilitating, causing social isolation and chronic pain. Symptoms can include abdominal pain, diarrhoea and/or constipation. It affects around one third of people, with variable severity. Dietary and drug therapies are often ineffective. Good medical evidence supports hypnotherapy as an effective treatment, but services are few and difficult for sufferers to access in many parts of the UK. Helen will describe the features of IBS, the importance of careful diagnosis, and usual medical management. She will introduce her hypnotherapeutic approach and share her results.
